Guest Talk & 2-Day Bayesian Workshop

Mark Andrews and Thom Baguley (Nottingham Trent University)

24.09.2018 – 26.09.2018

Nottingham 2On behalf of the international doctoral school REASON, we are very happy to announce a 2-Day Bayesian Workshop and a Guest Talk offered by

Mark Andrews and Thom Baguley from Nottingham Trent University

These events are especially geared toward researchers in the social sciences (students, early-career & experienced researchers). Prior knowledge on Bayesian statistics not required.

Guest Talk [Sept. 24, 2018, 14:00-16:00, Room 3232]: Mark Andrews & Thom Baguley offer a talk on the general issues surrounding Bayesian data analysis to social scientists, what they've learned from their experience, and how they think things will evolve in the future. The talk will be followed by an open discussion.

Everyone interested is welcome to attend!

2-Day Workshop [Sept. 25-26, 2018, 9:00-17:30, Room 046]: Workshops are aimed toward providing training in Bayesian data analysis to social science researchers (e.g., students, early-career, or experienced researchers) that want to gain experience with Bayesian methods. Workshop Day 1 aims to be a general introduction to Bayesian data analysis and how it differs from the more familiar classical approaches to data analysis. Workshop Day 2 aims to provide a solid theoretical and practical foundation for real-world Bayesian data analysis in psychology and social sciences. Workshop Day 1 is considered a precursor to Workshop Day 2.

*Capacity is limited, please contact arianne.herrera-bennett@psy.lmu.de or sarah.bichler@psy.lmu.de until 5.09.2018 if interested.
