ET 8: Statistical Methods for Measuring Learning & Change

The focus of this ET is on the advancement of statistical methodolgy in the Learning Sciences. In the context of learning, the measurement of change (whether at the individual, group, or organisational level) is essential. A critical problem associated with the measurement of change lies in distinguishing between real change and artefacts arising from limited measurement precision or the measurement itself. The ET's approach is to combine recent advances in statistical methods for mixed models, longitudinal data, and correcting measurement errors with diagnostic tools for probabilistic measurement models. The techniques to be developed are both of general methodological interest and of particular relevance to specific doctoral research projects.

Speakers:  Moritz Heene and Helmut Küchenhoff
