Social Psychology (Prof. Dr. Mario Gollwitzer)
This unit deals with the interrelations between social perceptions, judgments, and reactions (for example, the reaction to experienced injustice) and personality traits. Typically, subjects are confronted with specific (experimentally controlled) social situations (e.g., in the form of a written description, a video, or a "virtual reality"). Their perceptions of the situation, their judgments, and their reactions are then recorded and quantified in a standardized manner on the basis of appropriate measurement procedures. Self-reports as well as reaction time-based and behavioral measures are used. The highest methodological, technical and research ethics standards are taken into account in the planning and execution of these studies.
